Builder basics
Studio is a workspace for editing template source, previewing designs and saving private versions.
Start a project
Open Workspace → Projects (coming soon) and sign in. You can import a developer's source bundle or copy one of your saved private releases.
To plan a website with Jana, choose Build with AI (coming soon). Sign in with the account that will own the private project. The conversation and approved pages are saved before project creation. AI requires a host-selected supported model, enabled business/user access and available tokens; a provider key does not grant tokens. Initial design composition uses the approved brief, then queues a source build. Wait for a successful build before sharing.
- To import a template, enter a name under Import and private templates, select its
.banow-source.jsonfile and click Import into Studio. - To copy a saved version, find it under Your saved private releases and click Fork this version.
Studio opens the new project when it is ready. A private project does not require a store installation. See Developer SDK to create a source bundle.
Edit and preview
Select Code to edit source files or Preview to view the design. After a source change, open Project controls and click Save & build. On narrow screens, open More options to access the controls.
Use desktop, tablet and phone previews to inspect responsive layouts. The page overview shows the project's pages; open a page to view it in detail.
The editing panel shows fields declared by the template. Page settings edits names, addresses and search titles/descriptions. Templates using dynamic site navigation also offer Show this page in site navigation. Image fields accept HTTPS addresses or paths served by the site; there is no upload library here. Save settings before reopening. Undo handles recent settings; Versions → Save version records a source/settings checkpoint for restoration.
Save a version
After a successful build, choose Save private release in Project controls. The release preserves the current source, settings, images and built design.
Return to Projects and choose Fork this version to create an editable copy. You can continue editing either project without changing the saved release.
Recover a failed build
When a build fails, Studio shows an error and retains the last successful preview. Fix the source and choose Save & build again, or restore an available checkpoint through Project controls.
Reopen the project from Projects to load its saved state. If an import was interrupted, check the project list before trying again. See troubleshooting for more recovery steps.
Projects and live stores
A private project or saved release is not a live store. Installation and publication are separate actions that require store access and compatible features. Do not treat marketplace sample cards or simulated purchases as real installations or orders.
A Mock services badge identifies a preview environment that uses simulated services. Use the signed-in backend workspace for saved private projects and releases.
